Brainstorm first; define 1.0 later

Folks have already started posting their wishlists to this mailing list -- I think that (along with volunteering) is absolutely the right thing to do first.

It's too soon to talk about the specifics of a 1.0 release -- let's first just brainstorm, then we'll have a pretty good idea of what people are looking for.
