Irony of using Mail.app for this list

For all other mailing lists I use my gmail account, but I subscribed to this list in my own domain name's account, which I use Mail.app to read... Using Mail.app to read this mailing list is pretty cumbersome for me, especially considering the Smart Mailbox I have set for this isn't actually working, and there's no way to Archive emails like in gmail which I adore. Of course, I could be doing something wrong, but at the very least, it shouldn't be so difficult to set up a mailing list properly... Just my 2¢.
