Plumbing definitely needs unit testing. GUI unit testing, in my
experience, is a white elephant: mystical, revered and thought to be
nifty when absent, clumsy and expensive when it is present. A lot of
information would need to go into such specifications if you're to
test anything beyond "and if I select this folder, its messages show
up".
