Thanks, everybody, for voting and for asking great questions of the candidates. Turnout was higher than I expected, which says good things about this project (which has already surprised me with a bunch of good things).

Let's please also thank all the candidates — Jonas, John, and Caio — for being willing to put themselves on the line for this project. It's no small thing, and they should all feel great for being willing to step up and then for doing so well as candidates.

John Gruber got the most votes and is the first president. Congratulations, John!

I keep wanting to say something lofty here, like "Let's go make history!" -- but that's not right. Instead, let's go make a solid 1.0 of a new email app.

We have the talent, energy, resources, and tools, and we work on a great platform. We can do it.
